An Interview with Florals with Flair
Tell us about yourself and Florals with Flair:

Hello! I'm Ceri from Florals with Flair, and I've been doing floristry for twenty two years and have been a qualified florist for just over seventeen years now!

I love anything floral, including faux, fresh, dried and even down to any floral accessories I can get, if its floral I'm very likely to love it!

I'm always keen to be learning new techniques and having a lot of fun with different designs and techniques along the way.

Why work with faux flowers?

Faux  flowers have advanced so much over the years and they are much more “realistic" now from the plastic cheap looking fauxs that used to be available, making them a great alternative to fresh.
A huge benefit is that they can be designed well in advance of events without the worry of the florals dying or wilting. They are very versatile and can be manipulated into different directions for the design  needed, mainly without the risk of breaking or damaging the stems.

One of the main advantages is that they are everlasting and can be kept for many years to come. They are easy to clean too; if they get dusty that can have a quick swipe over with a wet cloth to refresh them back to new!

What do you like about the faux flowers that Gift Company stock?

I love the variety of faux florals  available from Gift Company, and the quality is excellent.

They are very realistic, and something that I particularly like is that overall they have long stems, which can easily  be  trimmed to smaller size if needed, making them  so versatile for a number of designs!

Do you have a favourite faux flower?

It has to be the Single Rose with Bud, it’s just so gorgeous and, makes a big impact and at a glance looks real!

Saying this though, Gift Company have the best eucalyptus spray that I’ve found so far.

Is there a flower that we don’t sell that you would really like to see?

I think Gift Company already stock a  wide variety of flowers, but if I had to choose one then maybe a Calla Lily would be a great addition to the range!

Can you offer any advice to anyone wanting to start making faux bouquets for their home

Go with what you like, if you use florals and foliage you like you're already on to a winner straightaway!

As a rule of thumb odd numbers are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye, so I try as much as possible to stay in odd numbers when making my arrangements.

Beginner shopping list for a simple bouquet:

For a simple bouquet with big impact, you can will need the following
3 x stems of  Single Rose with Bud
3 x stems of Viburnum Spray
4 x stems Eucalyptus Spray

Do you have any events planned for the second half of 2025?

I'm showcasing at a wedding fayre, and to this particular event I'm taking just faux and dried florals with me!

Later this year I have a event coming that is using a mixture of fresh, faux and dried and I'm excited to be using all varieties of florals for this!

I'm attending a Eco Funeral course at end of september - always keen to learn new skills.
